The
Scenario …
By
Hala El-Banna
Winner of the International Poets Award 2002
I
feel sick
Watching
blood all around
Blood
in abundance
Blood
in masses
Blood
everywhere.
I
wake up
The
horror is still there
It
continues,
It
lasts,
It
hurts,
You
wanna vomit.
You
make sure
It’s
no nightmare,
You’re
alive,
Quite
awake,
Not
dreaming.
Reality
in concrete strikes,
Reality
in its rugged outfit,
Reality
in its bitterness,
Yes
soreness.
How
can anyone face this holocaust!?
How
is it that some humans have degraded so,
Have
been transformed into beasts,
And
for food and survival,
THEY
FIGHT,
Capture
preys,
Eat
and feel satisfied.
RAW
FLESH
Has
become tasty,
And
BLOOD,
A
juice they drink,
And
ask for a refill!
BARBARISM,
A
system, a doctrine,
A
code for survival in
A
wicked age as this.
GOD
SAVE
us
HELP
us
GUIDE us
But
what can one say or do
TO
STOP BULLDOZERS
TO
STOP TANKS
TO
STOP ARTILLERY
TO STOP TOMAHAWKS.
Too
heavy the burden on the soul.
It
can easily crush bones,
But
spirits shall rise and be saved at
Our
Lord’s Trust.
Spirits
shall be saved.
Bodies
will be crushed,
But
spirits shall rise.
Only
humans will survive in Heavens.
Beasts
will perish in an everlasting Hell
This
is how the scenario tells.
